Hedgehog Helpers Dairy. Lexy Jeffers Autumn 2017

We are all animal lovers, and we all appreciate the nature around us, we give to charity and try and help in anyway we can, this is something we can all do for free, and it was inspired by a wonderful lady named Lexy Jeffers, she post the statement below when she sadly was unable to save a young hedgehog who had been caught up in a strimmer and sadly passed on.  We can all sympathise with the loss of this little one, and the sadness Lexy felt at his passing, but she didn't just sit and lament the loss, she got active and contacted as many organisations she could find, she shared in groups and on blogs and in the future is hoping to start a blog in the young lads honour.  But more important than all of that she contacted FLYMO the makers of many strimmers, and they took the time to listen and act.  Lexy will be keeping us all up to date as she currently has many Hedgehog visitors to her property and she is happily housing them all.  Id like to take the time to thank Lexy for all the help and healing she does for animals we sometimes forget need out help. And it isn't just strimmer, lots of garden waste or rubbish can cause a real problem for our wildlife neighbours. Small garden fires and Bonfires. So take a few easy steps to help out, check your area for loose wire or string, anything left lying around or under rubbish piles and logs, these areas are potential homes for the winter.

**PLEASE CHECK FOR HEDGEHOGS BEFORE YOU USE A STRIMMER!**

**PLEASE COPY THIS AND POST TO ALL OF THE GROUPS YOU ARE IN**

Today I have gone out to my Hedgehog House to find a dead hedgehog! He died from injuries that appear to be related to a strimmer, as he was slashed half through!! He must have crawled back to the house and there he died last night. I am absolutely heart broken! He must have been in agony! Please check overgrown areas of your garden before you use strimmers and the like! We share our gardens with wild animals and it takes a few minutes to check first! This dear hedgehog is now at rest buried in my garden! PLEASE, PLEASE COPY THIS AND POST TO ALL OF THE GROUPS YOU ARE IN TO TRY AND STOP THIS HAPPENING AGAIN!

COPY AND PASTE PLEASE TO EVERYWHERE YOU CAN! Thank you so, so much from me and our UK wildlife!

Hi Lexy, Thanks for bringing it to our attention. We will absolutely put content out to warn people about this. Are you happy for us to use this image near to bonfire night?
We will also be sure to warn of the dangers with strimmers. Let us know if you have any suggestions. Many thanks The Flymo team
